Visidata Proprietary Limited is based in Perth, Western Australia and has been dormant since January 1st 2005. This is the date when Surpac Minex Group purchased the Intellectual Property (IP) and began the further development and marketing of Interdex and Coreview.
In July 2006, Gemcom Software International Inc. purchased Surpac Mines Group, and have now decided that Interdex and Coreview are not suited to their corporate strategy.
Gemcom Software International Inc. have granted a license to Visidata which allows us to continue to make available these very popular Mineral Exploration software packages.
Company History:
Visidata was formed in 1994 by a group of geologists who needed to make daily, value adding decisions with their exploration and mining data. They designed a Windows program, called INTERDEX (short for Interactive Data Exploration), which is now one of the most popular exploration programs in the world.
| In 1994, we launched Interdex at the AEG Townsville Geochemistry Symposium. It was a hot, humid week, sitting in a booth on the lawns in front of the Sheraton Breakwater. A month later, we were flying to South Africa to launch the programs in Johannesburg. | ![]() |
In 1998, we formed VDC International PTY LTD as a vehicle to write what has now been called CoreView. This allows our users to log drillcore and drill chips directly into computer log sheets and tables, and to use the data directly within Interdex.
| In late 2000, The Interdex 3D viewer was released. This 'OpenGL' software allows our users to better visualize their existing data in three dimensions, and make those important day to day "value adding" decisions. | ![]() |
The release of Version 6 in August 2001, was the most significant upgrade since 1994, being a complete conversion to "32 bit" code to take better advantage of the latest operating systems. Later releases in the Version 6.x series, enhanced and fully integrated the 3D viewer into Interdex, and also included several innovative ideas and requests by our users.
By December 2004 we had agents in Brisbane, Darwin, Denver (USA), Dorset (England), Gauteng (South Africa), Calcutta (India) and Toronto (Canada). Since then, these valued collegues have gone their separate ways.
In March 2007, Visidata came to life again with the sole pupose of releasing security free versions of Interdex and Coreview.
